What website builder should I use for my small business?
Hey everybody, it’s Danny from Empowered Creative. I’m just out here, taking a walk on a beautiful spring day, and I was thinking about all the business owners that I talk to who kind of start out with a website, and end up coming to me just really dissatisfied.
So today, I want to answer the question. What website builder should I use? Or where’s the best place to start? You want a website for your small business?
So the first place that I would start, when looking for a website for your small business is, I would think about growth in my business.
So one of the things that I would be thinking about is,if my business continues to grow is my website is the current space that I’m using, is it going to help me to continue to grow? Or am I going to be looking at this in six months or a year?
And I’m going to be thinking to myself, “Man, I need a lot more functionality out of my website. I want to do more things. I want to let people be able to make appointments and make reservations. I want people to be able to book something.”
And maybe you’re not there right now, and maybe that’s something that down the road as you grow your small business owner, you’re not going to have time to be taking phone calls from people while you’re actually working in the business.
So these are the things that a lot of business owners end up coming to me and saying, “Help me! I’m too busy and I can’t take anymore! I need my website to do this. I need to automate this process.

So there are several popular website builders out there. You have Wix, you have Squarespace and more coming on the market every day, because they see a market for a subscription-based style of helping people with websites, but the truth of the matter is, if I was going to build a website and this is what I recommend toall of my small business owners, it’s what I we use at Empowered, if I was going to start building a website.
I would build my website on WordPress. WordPress is one of the most supported communities in all of the world. If you just do a quick search on Google for finding a community, you can find all sorts of meetups across the world where people are, not only their the support one another to use WordPress, but also are actively creating plugins and things that are for the benefit of a small business.
So my recommendation, if you are going to start a website for your business, you want a website for your business, use WordPress. As your business grows, as you get bigger, as you are thinking about expanding as you needed to do more, WordPress can grow with you. Whereas a lot of those other places can’t.
